This was hard. This was very hard. After much deliberation, Judge Sweetcheeks narrowed it down to Becca and Jennifer. The difficulty arose with the lack of groundrules for the game. The only requirements mentioned were grungy/scary. Did that mean dirty? Did that mean strange? I don't know what I meant! I was just goofin' around!
So, Becca's bathroom was awesome. It instantly took me back to my girlhood days of peaking at people's cabinets when I went to use their bathrooms. Ah, the makeup, the hairstuff, the FUN! And a whole counter just for girly stuff! Heaven for my little girl heart. The dustbunnies that identically matched mine.
Yes, mine. You read correctly. Andie asked if I fix my stuff up before taking pictures and the answer is yes and no. Never before. I know it shouldn't be possible to surprise one's self, but I 've managed to do it. Previously, I just saw something nasty and grabbed the camera thinking "Ooh, this is disgusting! Let's share it with the WORLD!" But this time, I had a little warning. I usually pick up my bathroom a bit while my girls take their evening baths, so it shouldn't be too terrible. But it manages to accumulate anyway. I just gave it an extra-good clean-up Thursday night.
Back to our contestants....Becca's had the grunge, while Jen had the scary. Basically clean, but oh, so scary. I cannot imagine being constipated in that room. Oh, the pressure!
Chris finally decided and went with......Jen! The kicker for him was the laundry beside the laundry basket. That is exactly how it goes in our house, too. My personal favorite part of the entire bathroom is the green/copper vase on the counter. In the midst of everything, someone took a moment to think "You know what this room needs? A nice vase." (pronounced 'vawz' of course - lol.)
Enjoy your soap, Jen! You are welcome to come borrow my tub to relax and enjoy it :)

Just so, she said with a satisfied nod.
I'm ROFL that you even had to think about it! (Eh, sorry Jen!)
Are you feeling better?
Woo hoo!! I was going to feel very sorry for anyone who could actually win over me! LOL
My bathroom is now under construction. My hubby was already so sick of the colors and I think my entry into this contest sped up the desire in both of us to do something about it. I'm so sore today from spackling and sanding. I can't wait to show the "after" pictures!!
It feels rather odd to win because of how bad/ugly something is in my house, but I can't wait to get some Foil Hat soap! :0) Thanks Jenn and Chris!
Oh. My. Goodness! I am SO sorry that I missed this one, Jenn. Here are the details of our downstairs bathroom that I missed sharing with you:
•dark green wall tiles
•grey-green floor tiles
•mint green toilet and tub
•olive green marble countertop with...
•a sink shaped like Texas (I am NOT joking)
and, last but not at ALL least...
(gimme a drum roll)...
•walls UPHOLSTERED with peach, beige, and taupe buffalo-check(ish) fabric. And there's actual BATTING under the fabric: a padded bathroom!
Oh, the shame. The house was apparently built in the 80s (duh!) by a psychotic color-blind Texian. *snort* And yes, it is officially the room about which we must do something. ;)
I hope you're feeling better! :)
Hugs,
Deb, Amazonpregnantpixienerd
Oh Deb, you have to save the Texas shaped sink - use it in the laundry room, make a birdbath or something...that is too, too funny.
