The shop has closed.
We spent the weekend camping in the mud and rain....and it was glorious. We were celebrating having Chris home....home to stay. A year ago, we set out to open a computer shop while Chris also continued working at his regular job. We knew it would be tough, basically seeing Chris on weekends only, but decided we could all step up to make it work and give it a real try. We set an end date of one year, resolving to have only one job at the end of that year, regardless of what job it was.
One year has passed and we are closing the job we were hoping to keep, but there are no regrets with it....we have daddy home.
Chris will continue to take care of his business customers as a mobile technician. The shop has closed. He had about a dozen customers he couldn't just drop, but they won't interfere with family time too badly.
Due to pouring rain and flash flood warnings, we were the only family at the campground this past weekend. We were alone for 3 days. Tight, cold, muddy conditions only served to make us squeeze even closer and enjoy the family time even more. I was afraid that having Chris home would be awkward, messing up our routines, but it seems our routine has been holding it's breath for the past year...waiting for a key ingredient.
Daddy is home.

Contentment in following God's led ... wonderful! Sure, it may not be what you wanted but I'm sure down the road you'll know why God closed this door! He always provides. You two are a blessing!
Nancy
yay! you are brave people, camping in the weather we had last weekend!
It looks like you had a lot of fun. I'm sure that while the business was open, He was a blessing to lots of people.
Awww, I am sorry it didn't work out, but at least you tried!!! I am glad he'll be home more now, that has to be a relief!
