All was well at 4:00 a.m., right up to the moment we put the van into reverse. Instantly, the heavens opened and cold rain pattered our farewell. Hail hit us before we reached the city limits.
The kids weren't overly bright eyed and were not even a little bit bushy tailed.
Weary, Weary, Wet & Dreary.
All Morning Long.
Just beyond the Texas border, we stopped at a Rest Area and the moment we opened our doors, the clouds scattered and the sun came out. It was wonderful! Ahhhh. We stretched. We ran. We jumped. I even did a cartwheel in the grass. Just as I was contentedly sighing and thinking of how much I'd missed Texas and how it would make a great home-state, I saw a mosquito the size of my big toe and remembered just how much I love Missouri.
More to come.....

Even the teddy bear looks sleepy.
I hate the southern skeeters. They're brutal. Looking forward to moving northward just to get away from all the carnivorous bugs!
