The underside of my rock

When it comes to economics and politics, I can often be found plugging my ears and shouting lalalalalalala in hopes that it will all go away. I get angry when I read what people are doing and speaking out against it rarely seems to do any good.

It did good this time.

First there was this.

And then there was this.

People spoke out. They called. They emailed. They let their voice be heard. Had it not been an election year, would anyone have listened?

This election is the most bleak and dreary looking that I've seen. As it stands, I'm still voting for Ron Paul, whether he's on the ballot or not. I want my voice to be heard. I want them to know what the people want. No, I DO NOT want Obama in there. But, as it stands, I don't want my vote being counted as a voice that says "We the people want McCain-types in there." I'm still so torn. Jennie C. has some great points for voting for McCain, but I'm not there yet. I'm desperate for them to hear my voice, as pitifully small as it is.

i, too, loathe politics. i am keeping you company underneath that rock, singing lalallallaalaa!

too bad i can't avoid it on account of my teaching a government class this semester. i'm trying so very hard to teach how the system work and keep class from turning into a debate. it's hard. especially with my 8th grade class, which is surprising.

anyway, i too am undecided. ron paul sounds pretty good. :)

I would like to vote for Ron Paul also. However, there is no way he would win. So when you vote for him your taking away a vote for Mcain and that would help Obama win. I really don't trust him. You have no way of knowing how much is really true that you get in all the emails. However I seriously he could be the John the Baptist to the anti-christ.

Granny Janny's right. Every one of us who wants to vote for Ron Paul would ordinarily vote for McCain. Paul can't win, but by voting for him, we can sure make certain that Obama does, and that is too bad to even consider.

Gah..I hear you! I'm still undecided but that's also because voting for McCain makes me "one of them" and I don't want to be in that category. For everyone that says having Obama in office would be horrid, the end of the world, etc., I have that same feeling about McCain/Palin.

Frankly, I think the ballot this year is a lose/lose situation.

I am singing away myself.

I am ready for this to be over and trying not to be anxious about it myself.

I feel good that they heard my voice! :) Email is awesome! ;) I even blogged about it on my opinion blog ;)

And I am totally writing in Ron Paul.

I don't care what the Obama people say, or the McCain people say.

Ron Paul reminds me of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington!! :)

McCain, Obama, and nearly everyone else currently in Washington, remind me of Mr Potter in Its a Wonderful Life!!

I have had more opinions coming out of me lately, though, its such a funny thing! haha

Since it's plain fact that either Obama or McCain WILL win, it's imperative to vote for the lesser of two evils, no matter how bad that feels. Throwing a vote away to make a statement won't last more than a day; the wrong person elected will last 4 Years. God Himself help us if it's Obama. Have you seen the youtube video called infanticide? It hurts my soul. Blessings, Whitney
