Here's how dangerous this is:
I seared my roast on the stovetop and then put it in the oven to bake. I removed the roast from the oven and sat the pan back on the stovetop to cool...this baby was boiling! I walked by about 20 minutes later to see if it was cool enough to handle....still boiling.
?
I LEFT THE BURNER ON!
FOR 2 HOURS!
I'm going to go make sure the oven is off now.

I am so glad (for me) that I am not the only one who does this. I burnt my shrooms and peppers today. EEK! I managed to scrape off a good edible layer, but still. Kevin loves to make fun of me for that. I always leave burners on, whether I am cooking (burning) food or just pans! haha
I hope you can get ya some sleep!!
If you had told that story in front of my hubby he would have rolled his eyes, laughed and said.. "Oh, Nikki can beat THAT!"
but that's a story for another time....UGH, I feel your pain----was the roast edible?!?
Let's say it together "crockpots are our friends."
Har, har, har.....actually, I switched to crockpot yesterday and turned that roast into a yummy beef stew. I'm ready for lunch already.....leftovers!
I am also really glad I am not the only one who does things like that!!!
