Book # something

I need to catch up and make a list of the books I'm reading for the 52 weeks project (which I'm loving, by the way.) I don't remember what number I'm on.

I finished Sense and Sensibility last night.

Contented Sigh.

It isn't a new story to me, but it's still a page turner!

It is amazing to me the romantic heart of Jane Austen, who was never married. There is no evidence that she even had any long lasting, serious relationships with the opposite sex. I think perhaps that it is not necessarily a knowledge of romantic relationships of which she is an expert, but a beautiful grasp of the romantic heart of woman.

A line from the book:
"...though a very few hours spent in the hard labour of incessant talking will dispatch more subjects than can really be in common between any two rational creatures, yet with lovers it is different. Between them no subject is unfinished, no communication is even made, till it has been made at least twenty times over."

I understand this one inside out, for myself. I love to hear every possible opinion my husband has on a subject. I love to explore every angle. But while I love my lover and I know that my lover loves me, I know it drives him nuts to "beat a subject to death". It is hard for me to grasp a lack of desire to explore through communication, but we're all wired differently. I've learned, through the years to not take this as a lack of interest on his part. I acknowledge that I am, perhaps, sillier than most. So, I hear you, Jane. I hear ya.

I love that line! It totally reminds me of when Kevin and I were just engaged and we just talked about things over and over.

He is like your dh too, he doesn't like to talk things over and over anymore. But he will still talk to me abut things and I love that! :)

It's ironic because I just got back from a date with my guy and we spent 2 1/2 hours talking and talking and talking over dinner and then coffee. I'm in heaven.
