Challenge Day #1

First assignment with A Bowl Fully of Lemons' challenge is to tackle the junk drawer.

You might want to prepare yourself for this.

Don't just jump in thinking, junk drawer? how bad could it be?

It's not kind of bad.

It's really bad.

I don't hunt in there for anything anymore because I get stabbed by things every time I reach my hand in.

Of course, that doesn't stop me from tossing things in there and forgetting about them.

But if you think you can handle it, here's my junk drawer.....

Did you hear dramatic music in your head? I heard dramatic music in MY head.

I tossed it all in a box and shook it to make the toothpicks settle to the bottom. I got the kids involved. Ethan tested all the batteries, Joel delivered odd tools to Daddy, and the girls tested the pens.

That's a lot of dead pens that have no business being there. We also had a large number of DEAD batteries that had no business being there. New rules include ZERO writing utensils in the junk drawer, zero dead batteries, and ZERO cheese! Cheese packets? Really?

End results:

It really bothers me that I have two piles of cupcake liners showing here. I'm not sure how that happened. They are all in one pile now, but one stack apparently jumped while I was snapping a picture. I want to go retake before posting, but I'm going to force myself to move on and accept it.

I never, EVER, use rubber bands. I have no idea why we own any. But IF I should ever need any, at least now I know where to find them.

Want to share your junk drawer story? It can't be worse than this, right?

Okay, first of all, I have to give you props from the very beginning, as you had those handy-dandy organizers already!

Second, I never knew you could fit that much stuff in those organizers! AMAZING! LOL

And, finally, AWESOME JOB! That junk drawer is very "spiffy" (that's the word Blake chose) and I'm very proud of you - and your children for helping. :)

You already saw my junk drawer post, so I won't bore you with it again.

Kinda like the cabinet in the utility room where I can organize all the nuts and bolts, glue and wrenches, and all it take is one rummage through from Hubs to look like it did to begin with. {{{SIGH}}}

God bless ya and have fun sortin' and tossin'! :o)

I did hear dramatic music...weird. That junk drawer has nothing on mine, but some of the same things along with the stabbing. I will post a pic for you later :P
