Just Use Vinegar
The next assignment in my horrid little book instructed me to find something new to do. Go out and do something with the kids just for fun. I read that one last night. This morning, I had an email announcing a field trip in Ozark. There were several activities listed, including a Chemistry lesson, Valentine crafts, Sign Language, and Card playing. I had seen descriptions of their Chemistry lessons before and they looked very exciting....making goop, blowing things up, etc. I scurried this morning to do my "something new." My boys were having friends over to spend the night, so I called their mom and got permission for them to join us. I arranged for my 2 year old to spend the day with Grandma. And off we went. Now, this is very embarassing to admit, but you need to understand what a HUGE undertaking this was for me. I don't drive. I CAN drive. I drive fine, but my husband does all the driving and I get a little tense about driving to new places. Also, I am not used to doing things alone. I always grab a friend. This field trip was an hour and a half away and I didn't have a clue how to get there. If it weren't for Chris pushing me, I wouldn't have done it. But I DID it!!!! I went somewhere without a buddy. I drove to an unknown destination without my hubby.
And the Chemistry lesson? LOL. It was a Melalueca rep telling about their products and sharing the dangers of standard household products. It lasted an hour. An HOUR spent discussing the increased cases of cancers and various diseases that we have nowadays. My sons' poor guests. I can just see them the next time their mom starts to clean the bathroom: "NO, MOM! NOT THE PINE SOL!!! I'm too YOUNG to die!!!!!!!!!!"
