Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. It is 30 degrees outside, but we're making plans for summer fun. And the theme, ironically, is Winter! Well, not winter, but an Arctic Excursion. I got to be on the VBS team last year and am excited to get to hang out with two very awesome ladies again this year. Most churches have only 1 director who plans it all out. I don't know how they do it. It definitely took all three of us last year. We had our first solid meeting yesterday and got lots done. I'm really looking forward to this!
I think VBS is an awesome thing. A great chance for kids to have a blast while reinforcing Christian values and lessons...but more importantly an awesome outreach opportunity to kids in the neighborhood who wouldn't otherwise be found in a church.
In general, I don't like kids...except my own, of course. But I believe VBS is an awesome thing and want to do my part. My part is definitely not teaching a class (someone would go to jail and her name would be Jennifer) so I really admire those who volunteer in that area. Organizing stuff is more my style, so I'll stick to that department.
