Rare Seeds

I went to this store today! This place is so neat! We didn't realize before we left, but you can order heirloom seeds from their catalogue and have them shipped for just $2.50. We spent more than that in gas, but it was cool to get to see the store. We got a LOT of seeds and the owner said they will keep for 3-5 years if stored properly, so whatever we don't use will get used someday.

We planted lettuce, radishes, and carrots today. We'll plant more of the same seeds in a couple weeks and then again a couple weeks later so they don't all ripen at the same time. We also planted some tomato and green pepper seedlings. I read somewhere once upon a time that they are beneficial to each other. I cannot for the life of me remember WHY it's good to plant them together, but I'm pretty sure I didn't make that one up. We'll put corn, beans, and a bunch of other stuff in tomorrow. Whew! Talk about Science Credits!!!! And sleep! Ethan, my early riser, slept in until almost 8:00 this morning! I haven't seen that boy sleep past 6:30 all year. Apparently I just needed to wear him out a little harder. Sunshine is good for growing boys. It seems to be having the opposite effect on the girls though. Their naps are getting shorter and shorter. Posted by Picasa

Do you mean you spent less than that in gas?

No...we spent more in gas than it would have cost us to have them shipped to the house. But that's okay because it was a fun outing anyway.

Seeds...yeah, okay, whatever...

Latin Lovin' Hillbillies? ROFL. Almost literally!

*That* needs to be on a sign at the end of our driveway, especially today. Remember my dead dryer outlet and ugly clothesline strung?

Well, the only place I can reasonably do this right now (What with dh runned oft to NJ an' all) is on the front porch. So yes, all our laundry is strung about the front porch. Thank goodness we're out in the woods.

Of course, the UPS guy showed up as I was hanging it yesterday. AND, he's due back today with -- what else? -- our LCI DVDs.

How many people get a Latin course delivered to a house with underwear hanging out on the front porch, I wonder?
