Remember that pretty garden post that I shared ages ago? The family all working together to create that work of nutritious beauty? Notice how I kind of dropped it afterwards?
Soon after we carefully planted our organic, heirloom seeds, it began pouring rain. It rained for days. The word "deluge" was tossed around. It was bad. Our entire garden was underwater. We chose it's location because it was out of the way...off in a corner. The yard doesn't appear to slope downward at all, but all water sits for days in the spot we chose for that garden. It stayed underwater for nearly a month. We totally gave up any ideas of having a garden. But somehow, a few things survived. We have one popcorn plant limping by. Several short, most-likely-bitter lettuce sprigs are scattered about (not in the tidy rows we started them in.) Nearly half of our tomato plants are still alive and they even have a few green tomatoes trying to survive. I actually picked a jalapeno...but Ethan dropped it. We might actually get to eat something out of there eventually. But it is NOT pretty. Grass and weeds have taken over. We spent a lot of time out there, trying to clean it up today.
Now, for the Lend an Ear. And if you don't know about Milli Vanilli and their scandal...then you really don't need to waste any more time or energy reading my blog. I am far too old for you to appreciate.
I can't believe I had a crush on these guys....do you know how hard it was to find a picture of them that didn't make them look like a couple?

You had a crush on Milli Vanilli? That is something I did not know, and did not want to know about you Jenn. What was it for you? The dread locks, the cool dance moves?
Misty :)
It was the eyes. Blue eyes and coffee skin? What 6th grade girl could resist?
Yeah, well just like the singing, the eye color was probably fake too! Colored contacts!
Okay. I loved and still love milli vanilli. Wish I had the album. But, really, I wasn't surprised when the news broke. They sounded different in every one of their songs. Great songs, though.
I'm so sorry to hear about your garden. I would have been devistated.
