Clueless??

I think I know what people in a coma feel like. At least the half-coma-actually-just-pretty-much-paralyzed-and-can't-communicate people. I promise I am a semi-intelligent individual on the inside. screaming to get out. My body just won't let me. I'm in here! I can hear you! Look! My left pinky just twitched! Inside, there is a totally organized woman. Honest. You would not believe how incredibly organized I am on the inside. Witty and energetic, too. My lessons are fabulous. or they will be. someday.

Someone made a passing comment -intended solely as a joke- about how "that's okay, you're usually clueless anyway."

hahaha.

I'm a homeschool mom to 4 kids. 2 are young and restless. Did I mention that they don't sleep? I try and keep up and I try to appear normal. I'm trying to just bide my time until the day comes when they sleep. I sleep. And the real me (the me I used to know) gets to emerge like a butterfly from a cocoon.

Judging by how long it took me to settle on the correct spelling of cocoon, it is possible that I'm only imagining things. This might be as good as it gets. Posted by Picasa

I don't know what exactly it is that kids do to you.... It seems like in order to build their own brains in utero they need to use a bit of ours. For instance, my memory used to be great, but with each child, I remember less and less.

The other day, the light in the children's bedroom stopped working. No problem, I thought. I'll just change the lightbulb. It's a ceiling fan wired into wall switches, and there was nothing wrong with the lightbulb. So I called my husband in to diagnose the problem. He's great at fixing electric stuff. Do you know what he did? He pulled the chain switch. Voila. Light. Now that wouldn't be so bad, but last year, while he was deployed, we had a similar problem in another room, and I called an electrician to pull that chain for me. Cost $40 that time.

I just want you to know you are not alone. Embrace the insanity. I don't think we'll ever recover from it.
