Okay, hum a little "..rollin' on a river..." and tell me quick: who do you think of first? Is it Creedence or Tina Turner? I picked up some great cassettes at a yard sale recently and we were enjoying CCR on our way to the creek. Proud Mary came on and I hadn't realized they ever did that song. Chris was shocked. Who else could do this song? Duh, Tina Turner drag queens, who else? He sneered. Certain that the world would side with him, he insists I do a blog poll to find out. So please leave your comments and tell me....who is more notorious for performing this song?
He's just being mean now. He did a google search and discovered that John Fogerty was the original writer of the song. He's now gloating and calling Tina Turner a hack. He concedes that the "doo-doots" might be her own addition, but that's it. "Especially since she can't play a guitar to save her life. Perhaps a cow bell, he's taunting. She could probably play a cow bell. Yeah...that's it needs more of...'what I need, is more of that cow bell!'" I say he's watched too much SNL.
Anyway, which is it?

Uh, Duh! It's a Creedence Clearwater Classic of course! But the first thought that popped into my head was the face of the acrress who played Tina Turner in that movie. I forget her name though.
Creedence...Unfortunately I live with a big CCR fan!! I had never heard of them until we started dating!!
Tina? Are you kidding? Sorry, but hubby gets my vote!
Sorry Jenn, it has to be Ike and Tina. But I'm an oldie myself.
CCR for sure!
Oh, y'all are killing me with these! No one envisions Drag Queen Tina Turner impersonators when they hear that song???
