Where am I?

Where is Missouri? I'm trying to figure out how to grow an organic garden and all the websites that look helpful are asking me to specify what region I live in. Where's an essay question when you need one? It's multiple choice and I can't stand the pressure! Midwest? Well, the "mid" part sounds right, but I'm certainly not "west". I'm closer to "east" but I wouldn't really call it east. And even if I wanted to call it east, I'd have to decide between North or South east and neither is true. Why can't there just be a "Middle" option??? I tried googling, but none of the maps seem to agree either on what the different regions should be called or on what region gets to claim Missouri. One listed me as being part of the Great Lakes region. One lists me as Southern Plains. One listed me as Big Rivers...I'm not any of those and they're not on my drop-down menus anyway! "Southwest", "West North", "Eastern"......I kid you not.

It appears that Missouri is the red-headed step-child of states and no one wants to claim us. My apologies to anyone who actually IS a red-headed step-child. I mean no offense. In fact, if I had had my wishes, I myself would have been a red-headed step-child. I had the freckles and the skin that only burned, but I couldn't convince my hair to turn red. But I digress.

I'm going with "midwest" because it's the only region that mentions "mid." But now I've used all my computer time googling and blogging that I don't have time to get beyond the first question on my quest for organic gardening. lol!

You crack me up. We are rather boring-Mississippi is in the south. The deep south where we know it will be humid and either really cold or really hot. Can't you tell I love it here? LOL.

Kudos to the organic gardening, you are brave!!

I understand. Try placing *us* anywhere. At least you're given the benefit of the doubt when you claim that MO is actually a state. We first have to get past the 60% of the population that thinks we're in western Virginia... *sigh*

I'm still trying to decide what "number" I am, too. We sort of are on the border of 2 different ones. Go figure. I don't have much of a green thumb so I guess it doesn't really matter!
