Just to explain....

Honor's crappy cup of coffee was a movie quote. Our family walks around spouting movie quotes, forgetting that not everyone knows what we're talking about.

We say things like "I like to whisper, too!"

Or "Somebody needs a hug."

Chris likes to answer the phones at work "Buddy the elf, what's your favorite color?"

But the crappy cup of coffee? Honor came up with that one on her own. Just a sign that she had a strange favorite movie for a 3 year old.....and that she'd watched it way too many times.

Tell me I'm not alone! What strange movies do your kids watch? What odd quotes circulate your home? Please share.

My hubby and I have so many lines from Spaceballs memorized and we repeat them often. My favorite line is when they hold up the Spaceballs Flameshooter and say the kids just love this one. The kids don't hear us use them too often, though.
We also like the british comedy shows on Saturday night - I guess that can count as strange! :D

Our favorite line right now is from a commercial (well, more a quote by my daughter about the commercial). You know the commercial for an allergy med./nasal spray with the bee flying around from place to place? The bee talks about seasonal allergies, etc. When my daughter saw it she said with a straight face to the people on the t.v.: "Duh, there's a bee in your house."

Another one is "Git r done." My kids know that one from the movie "Cars".

Rosie quotes "Cars" on a daily basis. She watched it every day for four months (not sure what that means) until David told her she couldn't watch it again till he left.

They do spout literary quotes quite often, though. It always surprises me...pleasantly.

I should do more literary quotes. But so much of what I read reminds me of something I heard in a movie, when, shouldn't it be the other way around?

That, my friends, was a slightly modified movie quote. Anyone care to guess which one? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

I watch too many movies.

We quote Monty Python and Mel Brooks here. Occasionally The Princess Bride slips in there.

Sponge Bob, who I often call Sponge Blob by accident, is the most often quoted around here.
So much so that we have had Sponge Bob fasts and bans in the past.
