I've been tagged by Growing in Grace for "8 things" you may not know about me. I was previously tagged for this same meme by Jennie, so I'd best get to it, huh? I'm going to jumpstart my thoughts by following
#1. My natural rhythm is to be a morning person - up around 6 a.m. and in bed by 10 each night. But I never, ever do it. I stay up till hubby gets home and get up at 7:30 because I have to. I never want to. The truth is, I could sleep until 10 and still be tired. I'm in the habit of staying up late, so it isn't hard to stay awake, but my body just functions a zillion times better if I'm in bed by 10:30.
#2. I play the flute and piano...but not often. I need to make time. I sing alto every Sunday morning though. I really wish I could play the guitar. I bought one and tried to teach myself. I can play classical guitar (very slowly) but I cannot seem to get my fingers to play chords.
#3. I have dangling prepositions. I can't help it. I've been asking "Where's it at?" all my life. I am aware of the problem and trying to change.
#4. I am NOT a neat freak. I love to be in neat and tidy surroundings, but creating such an environment does not come naturally to me. In fact, I have to fight against my very nature to put the kitchen back to order immediately after dinner. I tend to linger. Do a task, read a chapter, do a little more, dance with the kids, do a little more, check email....It takes me hours to clean the kitchen because I just don't wanna.
#5. I'm touchy feely. I love to give and get hugs. I've started to pull back in the last couple years for fear of appearing flirtatious. I don't remember what made me realize that someone might take my enthusiasm the wrong way - probably nothing, but somehow I started getting paranoid (me?) and have pulled way back on the hugging.
Um, there's 5. I don't have a clue what you might not know about me. I think I air all my laundry pretty frequently. No big surprises in this package. Let's see....
#6. I have the most gorgeous kids in the world.

See what I just did there? Sarcasm - get it? Doesn't matter: you knew that, too.

I have the same problem with going to bed too late and getting up too early. I am actually a morning person-but only if I go to bed at a decent time!!
I am also very affectionate-and I unfortunately did have the problem of someone taking the affection the wrong way. I understand the paranoia!!
At Mass, just before Communion, we exchange a sign of peace with our neighboring worshippers. Usually, it's just a quick squeeze of the hand, maybe a kiss from your husband, and occasionally a hug from a friend. Once, I accidentally kissed a hugging aquaintance. I had nothing but little children, you see, and was prone to just kissing anything that came near! I felt sheepish about it, but either she didn't notice, or didn't care to comment. David, however, teased me for a good long time.
LOL Jenn, You're a funny gal. I love your sarcasm! I'm not a touchy feely person in general, except with my husband and children. Physical touch was actually one of my top five love languages, but I'm very guarded around the opposite sex. I've just never felt that comfortable around them for fear that they will think I'm flirting or something. Only when Britt is with me do I feel comfortable enough to be more myself around men. I can be very sarcastic though. The other day Britt had a guy that he works with to come over to price a privacy fence for us. We're wanting an 8 foot fence on one side so our neighbors can't see us when we swim. I jokingly told the guy, "Because, you know, we like to skinny dip!" and I had a smile on my face. BUT he never looked up at me when I said it so I think he thinks I was serious! He just said, "I hear ya". LOL Britt and I have been laughing about it ever since. We just hope it doesn't get around the office, LOL. So my off color humor can sometimes get me into trouble!
