My baby went to school!

She was so calm and confident. She gave a little wave and said "Bye, Mama!" And my little girl trotted off to her classroom. I turned around and bawled. I cried all the way out the door. It was a good cry, though.

I tucked little suck-up gifts in her backpack for her teachers. 3 bags in different shades of pink, filled with Whoppers and Mounds candy bars, and a note attached to each saying "Looking forward to a Whopper of a year! I know we'll have Mounds of fun!"

Am I a cheeze-ball or what?

We painted fingernails last night and I let her use m sugar-scrub body wash. She insisted on two ponytails this morning, even though they always look rough after about half an hour. Her bangs just aren't long enough yet. Her and Lily are looking forward to Sloppy Joes and Cheetos, as requested for their first day of school lunch when they get home...which is just half an hour away. We didn't get any schoolwork done. The best I could get myself to focus on was to finish a book the boys and I had started together. I'm so excited for her and can't wait to hear about her first day.

Doesn't she look simply adorable? What's up, though? Why is she in school?

Wow! So sweet!

Our operation is quite old school. Leo won't go for his first day til September 11th.

One 'N' Jen,

I do believe she's four, and before you go getting any ideas about that Luke of yours, Leo just told me to show him "that pretty purple girl wif da backpack like mine" again.

That's practically an engagement.

Two 'N' Jenn & Chris,

We'll have to talk about the specifics: dowry and who's Grammy and who's Gramma and whatnot, but I'm sure we can have the paperwork done in a few weeks.

Lemme know.

As a Preschool teacher-suck up gifts are ALWAYS appreciated!!

She looks adorable with her back pack. I hope she had a great day!

Thanks, guys!

Caralyn, I know. I know. But scroll on down a while, I think it's gonna be a good thing. Joel went to preschool too and he just loved it.

Jen, she'll be 4 in one more month.

Andie, this sounds doable. I like sheep. No goats. And no reneging once we've signed it in blood!

Christy, I hope you're right! The teacher didn't say ANYTHING when I picked up Honor. I know she must have been very focused on getting all the kids out safely, but the paranoid side of me could here her muttering "Oh. The suck up mom is here....HONOR, You're MOM's here!"

What a cutie! I bet she will have a great time at preschool. Or is it K4?

I've got a little something for you over on my blog.

The teacher probably never got to see the suck up treats. I know the way Honor likes sweets.

LOL! While I wouldn't put it past her, I don't think even Honor could down that much chocolate in one day.
