O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine.
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine.

Isn't it a shame that we rarely hear all the verses to this song? Personally, I think this one should be our national anthem rather than The Star Spangled Banner. Both are great songs, but this one is easier to sing and has more meaning to it.
Oh that's beautiful! Is that the rest of the song? Was it all written at the same time? O goodness. I'll just look on Wiki!
That made me cry!!
