Personality Tests

I read a blog entry that made me do a double take. This gal sounded just. like. me. Which led me to take a free Myer Brigg personality quiz (procrastinating) Here and Here. I also took a 3rd
test at another site, but it wasn't as good. All three came up labeling me as INFJ/P

I=Introverted
Lots of thinking/reflecting in my own world in my own head

N=Intuitive
Imagining and Creating rather than living in the here and now

F=Feeling
Need I say more?

And the odd one: J vs. P
J=Judging (not to be confused with judgmental)
P=Perceiving

They are opposites, but read the descriptions and if you know me, you'll see why I struggle with both.

Judging Characteristics
  • Plan many of the details in advance before moving into action.

  • Focus on task-related action; complete meaningful segments before moving on.

  • Work best and avoid stress when able to keep ahead of deadlines.

  • Naturally use targets, dates and standard routines to manage life.

Perceiving Characteristics

  • Comfortable moving into action without a plan; plan on-the-go.

  • Like to multitask, have variety, mix work and play.

  • Naturally tolerant of time pressure; work best close to the deadlines.

  • Instinctively avoid commitments which interfere with flexibility, freedom and variety

Perceiving is my natural inclination. Judging is where I feel satisfied and content. I am happiest while following my judging nature. I am malcontent while following my perceiving nature. But it is still where I naturally go. I can organize anyone on the planet.....except myself. I can create systems guaranteed to work...for anyone but me. But when I am "in the zone" and following through on my systems, I sigh peacefully with bliss all day long. I have always felt like I had two personalities dueling within....and here they are. I can see which one is stronger, but I don't like her.

Any suggestions for killing Ms. P? Is that possible?

If you took the tests, I'd love to see your results - please share!

When did I write this post? LOL! No, really, this is what I come up with on the Meyers Brigg tests. Sometimes it's INFP, sometimes INFJ. You've done a very good job of explaining why.

It's good to see another! A thread came up on the wtm board and it was interesting to see how many of us there are on there!

I'm an ISTJ, though every once in a while I come out INTJ. Never feeling, never perceiving. I'm usually fairly close on the I/E but I've never come out E. I do struggle with how much of the test is how I think I am or should be versus how I really am. It's really tough to honestly take the test.

I am pretty bipolar; I am either a ESFP, ESTP, or ENTP :) so obviously I am no help on the P ;)
