Homeschool Library Builder

I have shared about this great website before, but it deserves revisiting. And for the month of May, they are offering 25% off of everything! Their prices are always great and they offer lots of sales throughout the year, including occasional $1 bins.

The Books
Homeschool Library Builder is much more than a nice place to buy books, but let's start there. Of course, you don't have to be a homeschooling family to enjoy a good book. If you enjoy reading, you'll easily find something you enjoy on this site. It is especially nice for homeschooling families because it's inventory contains classic favorites, biographies, and living books. And to make it even nicer, this inventory is beautifully organized.

I don't generally like to browse for books online. I make lists of the titles I need and I make good use of the search bar to find the cheapest source for the books I need. Homeschool Library Builder has a great search bar that doesn't bring up pages of titles unrelated to my search, which is nice. But it also allows me to browse books by homeschooling program, genre, age group, etc. so that I don't even need to make a list for the titles I need, they already know it!

The Search
For instance, I am considering using Ambleside for my 9th grader next year. Rather than search for all 50 books on his list, Homeschool Library Builder has already organized a list for Ambleside 9th grade. They only have a few of the books I need, but it only took me 30 seconds to find that out. Also, their prices are fair. Now, it's not flawless. The list brought up abridged versions of some books of the books we needed, which are geared toward a younger age group, but it brings up all matching titles to the books on the list. Still, a wonderful feature.

The Free Books
Yep, free books. When you join their membership program, you earn 1 point for every dollar you spend. Every 15 points earned = $1 credit toward future purchases. Also, if you place a banner on your blog or website, you earn 75 extra points. That's an instant $5 for free books! These points don't expire, so you can save them up for years if you like, or save them for those $1 bin days!

Other Highlights
In addition to great books, Homeschool Library Builder also has an excellent Teacher Resource Calendar that shares activities and ideas for upcoming holidays and events. This is full of great links!

Homeschool Library Builder is a company run by two homeschooling families who appreciate the work involved in running cottage industries. They offer advertising on their site for small businesses offering discounts to HLB members.

Risk free! If you are not satisfied with your purchase, they offer full refunds on orders returned within 30 days.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm a fan of this company.

oooh always looking for great places to troll around for books! I'll admit that I do adore my brick and mortar bookstore, but sometimes it's just so wonderful to hop online and order! Thanks for sharing :)
