Sailors take warning

This is the view that greeted me during my morning coffee:

I grew up hearing the saying, "Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky at morning, sailors take warning." I remember being so excited seeing the first time I saw the same phrase in the bible, In Matthew:

He answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.

I think it is beautiful that God set such an incredible world into motion...that He established laws of nature and signs and seasons. This red-sky-at-morning sign is quite true. And there is definitely a storm coming! We're gearing up for a massive ice storm. In Missouri, that means power outages galore. WooHoo!

We bought donuts for a power-deficient breakfast (true on multiple layers) and lunchmeat for easy lunches. Now, we're catching up on laundry and preparing for lots of cuddling and reading. I should probably be responsible and serious about this, but ice storms still mean adventure to me. We're all giddy at the moment and having trouble staying serious.

Farm Boy and I were discussin' the red sunset last night compared to the red sunrise this monrnin' and decided the whole scenario was conflicted. Heeehehehe!!! God is good, our minds are a wee bit twisted and warped. :o)

Weren't both beautiful???

'Love your winter survival kit!!!

I have to tell ya, my kids thought it was a 'party' 'round the old Ponderosa when the power went out. Me??? Well, let's just say I have different memories but I did work hard to make it fun for the kiddos. It's just the way I fly!

Snuggle in and enjoy the adventure sweetie! :o)
