All Right Now

WooHoo! Sarah's fever broke Wednesday and she seems to be doing fine. She had the bottom-half of the stomach bug hit her, but she didn't fight taking fluids anymore, so all is well.

Today, we're potty training. My first try, nearly a month ago, was successful until 1:00 when she had diarrhea all over her high chair. Oops. I think she was just trying to get out of potty training, but I played along and took a break.
Something has come up every single weekend that kept us from doing this until now. Today, she's healthy and happy....and I forgot to buy diapers and used my last one. So what better time, eh?

Well, ANY time, apparently. The one-day method calls for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off the toilet. Whenever she has an accident, we run to the potty and practice getting there. HAHAHAHAHA! It is 5:00 in the evening. We've been doing this since 6:30 this morning and not once - count it: ONCE - has she actually tinkled in the toilet. She'll sit there happily while we read books and paint nails and color with the whiteboard. But no potty on the potty. Potty on the carpet. Potty on the chairs. Potty RIGHT NEXT TO THE TOILET. But no potty on the potty.

I'm not giving up. There aren't any tears (on her end anyway) and my carpet is shot anyway. It's this or a trip to Wal-mart. I think this is more pleasant.

Every time, I say "Ooh, no, potty goes in the toilet, not on the floor, sweetie."
And each time she says " 'kay."
Me: "So let's not go potty on the floor."
Sarah: " 'kay."
Me: "Potty goes in the toilet."
Sarah: " 'kay."

But I'm pretty sure she's really thinking "Que pasa?"

As for the heading...I love that song. I really have no idea what they're talking about, but it sounds great. I searched for a more flattering picture, but this was the cream of the crop. Poor werewolf-man there has problems. But they can sing so it's okay.

LOL I am loving it.

Que Pasa.

You crack me up.

I experienced the same thing with Laura Grace. She went everywhere BUT the potty. BUT she is about to turn 4 and is now fully potty trained so I guess at some point it clicked! Good luck!!

Wow! That's a lot of sitting in the bathroom! I don't know about this one day method. I use the four to six month method, which works pretty well. How old is she again?
