You mean, like, on purpose?

Ephesians 5: 15-16 says, "Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as the wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil."

I'm sick and tired of accidental days. I started the school year almost-ready. Not quite ready. But I knew what I was doing and knew I'd catch up. I haven't caught up. Even if it means ignoring school for a few days to finish up and tackle this with a real plan, I MUST finish our line-up. But that's just my school life.

How about my personal studies?
My housekeeping?
My mothering?
My finances?
My marriage?
My commitment to friendships?
My prayer life?

I'm doing pretty decent at some of these but I stink at others. No, don't you go giving me any "aw, darlin's" in the comment box! I'm not having a pity party. I'm actually feeling pretty good. There are areas that I've been a bit lazy on lately and I am feeling convicted to be purposeful. That doesn't mean we can't still be flexible or spontaneous. But it does mean that if I want to get stuff done, I need to figure out a way to get stuff done. It's not going to just happen on it's own, people.

Some times we are so on the same wavelength its scary...I just said to my husband last night that I needed to rework our schedule. SOME days school is getting done. RARE days housework is getting done. And I've nearly forgotten that I'm married. Oh-don't even ask about the finances! My goal for the weekend is to have a totally reworked schedule for the ENTIRE family. (I especially need to schedule my toddler's time as he is driving me NUTS during hs time.)

I am doing pretty good too. It helps that I am feeling energetic. I have serious issues with my "git-r-dun" when I am not feeling so good. As, I am sure, everyone does..... hehe

Amen.

That's all I have to say.

All I have to say is God bless you for doing it all. Take it from an old mom, you can't do it all perfect. This is from a girl that tried and found out the hard way. You can only give it your best shot and that all God asks of us. We are the hardest on ourselves. Love Ya, MIL

I hear ya! The kids are gone from 8-3, and I am still amazed at the number of things I am NOT getting done.

Hey, I really like that version of this verse! I don't usually like anything that isn't King Jimmy. That's just what I'm used to and everything else sounds "wrong". I like it for this verse quite a bit though. Which version is it?
