Honor's Infamous Tooth

This is Honor, a few weeks ago.  The tooth came out in about 10 seconds.  She decided before bed that it was coming out and that was that.  One yank and the job was done.  Her only complaint was that it looked funny and she wasn't sure she wanted to go out in public until the new tooth arrived to fill the hole.

This is Honor last week.  She decided before bed that the tooth needed to come out. It had been loose since before the other tooth came out.  She'd fiddled with it long enough and it was time to cash in.

Then she remembered that it's $1 if Daddy pulls it and $2 if she pulls it herself.

Then she realized it hurt and she was exhausted from a week of VBS and maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

Daddy comforted her and told her it was ready to come out without any trouble.

If he only knew.

She pondered the thought.  Bed or money?

$1 or $2?

She really wanted that cash.

Perhaps toilet paper would give her a better grip?

Maybe floss?

The tears.  The laughter.  The drama.  Oh, the drama.  It went on for over an hour before we gave up and went to bed.

For days, she ran around with this tooth hanging out of her mouth.  She wouldn't leave it alone, but she wouldn't just PULL IT ALREADY either.

For days, we constantly saw her with her fingers in her mouth.

It's not like it could get any more loose.  The thing was hanging by a thread.  She just liked to feel it.

We told her it looked like those Bubba teeth that white trash children get out of machines at the laundromat.  Not that we've ever seen nor tried such a thing...

Finally, I told her to "give me the tooth for cryin' out loud!" Two seconds and it was out.  Barely a drop of blood.  I don't know what it was attached with or how it managed to stay in there so long.  She spent her dollar within a day.  I think the tooth fairy should get a dollar for putting up with all the drama.

I love how you were able to document so many moments with her hanging on to that darn tooth!!! I"m so stealing the $1.00/$2.00 idea when Bear's first tooth is ready to come out!!!
